VentureLab’s 2024 Annual Report showcases the transformative power of entrepreneurship education. A focus on empowering educators to cultivate entrepreneurial mindsets in students saw tangible results, with instructors achieving advanced teaching skills and students reporting significant growth in confidence and creativity.
“This isn’t just about teaching business; it’s about equipping young people with the tools to see themselves as creators and problem-solvers. We’re seeing that early intervention and learner-centered education can empower young learners with purpose and agency, igniting a lifelong passion for innovation.”
Desma Deitz, Executive Director, VentureLab
Our ‘educator first’ model continues to be a cornerstone of our success. By investing in comprehensive training and support, we’re ensuring that educators are prepared to deliver engaging and impactful learning experiences. The ripple effect of this approach is clear: students are rediscovering their passion for learning, recognizing their potential to shape the world around them.
VentureLab programs help young people build important mindsets like curiosity, adaptability, and courage. These skills help students try new things, work through challenges, and believe in themselves. The report showcases student success stories. These narratives are especially resonant among girls and historically marginalized youth. VentureLab’s programs are dedicated to help educators foster an inclusive learning environment in the Out of School Time (OST) space.
Supporting educators is a central aspect of VentureLab’s mission. The organization offers a range of free resources, including lessons, training sessions, and coaching, to assist teachers in integrating the entrepreneurial mindset into their classrooms. Educators have expressed that these resources significantly enhanced their confidence, with 92% reporting feeling more competent and better equipped to teach entrepreneurship effectively.
“We’re not just teaching entrepreneurship; we’re building a foundation for a more equitable future.”
Dr. Cristal Glanchai, Founder, VentureLab
VentureLab is also committed to ensuring that financial barriers do not limit access to entrepreneurial education, with 75% of programs qualifying for need-based scholarships. Looking ahead to 2025, we’re doubling down on our commitment to expand our reach and deepen our impact. We’re focused on ensuring that every child, especially girls and those from historically marginalized communities, has the opportunity to thrive. We invite you to join us in this vital work. Together, we can create a future where every student sees themselves as a changemaker, ready to tackle tomorrow’s challenges with confidence and creativity
