SAN ANTONIO, TX — Monday, June 9 — The Young Women’s Leadership Academy Foundation (YWLAF) celebrated another successful year of its Girls Summer Entrepreneurship Program (GSEP), a six-day immersive experience designed to cultivate entrepreneurial thinking and leadership among middle and high school girls.
Returning for its second year, the camp builds on the success of its inaugural 2023 launch, continuing to offer students hands-on learning in innovation, business planning, creative problem-solving, and public speaking.
The camp kicked off with a full day led by VentureLab, a nonprofit dedicated to empowering youth through entrepreneurial education. VentureLab’s high-energy, interactive sessions introduced students to key entrepreneurial mindsets—like curiosity, courage, adaptability, and resilience—while also guiding them through ideation and team-building exercises.
“Entrepreneurship is more than starting a business—it’s a mindset that helps students navigate uncertainty and see themselves as leaders,” said Scott Mann, Director of Education at VentureLab. “We’re proud to kick-off this week of inspired and meaningful learning.”
"My favorite part from today was when we practiced our pitching & public speaking. These opportunities definitely made me feel more confident with myself and has helped me feel less worried about public speaking."
