Lighting the Spark: Retraining Young Girls to Excel

Inspire girls by redefining failure

Raising your daughter to become an intelligent and successful woman is your goal as well as mine. We all want our children to succeed, and we all want our daughters to be able to thrive in the world despite the constraints that society places on girls.

In this series of blogs, I will explore how we as educators, as parents, and as role models can help retrain the brains of our daughters to begin exploring the world with a fresh set of eyes, from a new perspective that allows them to succeed and embrace failure. We want them to be able to develop sharper and more innovative ways of thinking from these new experiences. Through this process of developing your daughter’s brain, her ability to discover and understand the world around her will expand significantly.

Understanding how experiences and education shape her brain is key to setting her up for success. I founded VentureLab to be able to teach girls entrepreneurial skills with a growth mindset in order to spark their fullest potential.

This means we teach your daughters that they can learn and achieve anything while understanding that they have the power to stretch their brains, to sharpen their minds, and to become smarter!

This exciting discovery is essential to girls’ academic and personal achievements.

When a young girl learns that her brain can change and grow, she is encouraged to take on new challenges and to redefine failure. As a result, she finds confidence in herself and develops the persistence and grit to pursue her goals. By working together as parents and educators we can elevate the education of our girls to empower them to live successful and impactful lives.

I’d love to hear from you. How have you encouraged your daughter to grow so that she feels free to challenge herself? Thank you for sharing.
